RoutingBox Friday Recap: Mitigating Risk and Eliminating Fraud Possibilities
This past Friday we had the BiTS Senior Manager, Dillon Joseph, join Jonathon Anthon to discuss the different ways software can help mitigate risk and eliminate fraud possibilities. Dillon works with the mobile app a lot, and because of this, was able to discuss how it helps customers with risk and fraud mitigation. There are many reasons implementing software can help assist your company with compliance. Let’s revisit a few of the ideas that were discussed:
One of the greatest strengths of utilizing software to obtain and maintain required information is that everything is traceable. If you find yourself in search of an audit trail, you have the ability to view any changes or actions made during each and every trip including all times and locations of stops, signatures, and other changes. Every piece of information from every single trip is stored directly in RoutingBox, making any and all information easily accessible.
In the NEMT industry there are various regulations and requirements that all transporters must capture and follow. Compliance with these regulations and requirements can determine the success of your organization. Failure to comply with your state and federal requirements will most likely result in penalties, fines and possibly even prosecution.
If you’re dealing with paper, it’s very easy to forget to record specific required information. Say for example, one of your drivers forgot to get the signature of a passenger from a recent trip. In this case, they might be tempted to falsify the signature later on, to avoid the repercussions of not getting every piece of required information from the trip. Or maybe they arrived late to pick up a passenger but entered a false time that made it seem like they were on time. If the passenger missed their appointment and complained, there is no way of tracking what exact time the driver picked them up and dropped them off.
Now consider the same situation; but, instead of entering all information on paper, everything was done through RoutingBox. This would completely prevent the pitfalls of the previous situation. The software knows exactly what information is needed to complete the trip. The driver is made aware of all information they need to capture, making it nearly impossible to miss anything. Not only that, but RoutingBox uses geolocation to see exactly where and when the signature was captured, and what time the passenger was picked up and dropped off. Software eliminates any opportunity to enter inaccurate or falsified information. Capturing data on paper allows room for error, while RoutingBox removes it.
It’s time to give yourself the confidence of accuracy and compliance. Get rid of any opportunities that may produce inaccurate data and protect your company, drivers and passengers. Storing required information is just as important as capturing it. In the case of an audit, save yourself time and money from digging through mounds and mounds of paperwork. In RoutingBox, compliance is effortless!
